Snow Thrower Please!

The snow banks seem much more impressive in person. Almost 5' high with about 18" on the ground. Smokes! And by the way, yours truly did all the snow "throwing" this morning. Whew!

This winter feels like it has dragged on forever! I'm not one to complain about the snow and the cold, but this year has really gotten to me. I really felt that good ole' Punxsutawney Phil deserved better this year. No shadow would have been nice. But has he ever not seen his shadow? Don't think so. So on we go with more winter, and cold, and snow. UGH.

Mr. Lamp Post is dreaming of warmer days too!

We have never owned a snow blower. Even after 3 Cache Valley winters, and 10 upstate New York winters with tons of lake effect snow, we have somehow escaped this seemingly standard wintertime purchase for snowy places. We have been shoveling our own snow for 16 winters now, and I think a snow thrower is in order! We've served our time and earned our stripes.

Granted, Bill has done 90 percent of the snow removal over the past 15 years, and he feels like we have three perfectly good "home grown" snow throwers. But I feel like a snow thrower that doesn't whine or complain, talk back ,or is in need of lots of nagging, sounds divine! Oh, how nice it is to dream! So, I decided if I was going to dream, I was going to dream big.........

Comes with a heater and radio too! I bet it would only take oh, about 5 minutes to plow the driveway with this baby!

But, I will gladly settle for this little one, and see how the guy is smiling? My wintertime life would definitely be much happier if I had one of these, and the happy snow throwing man to go with it:)

Jeepers Peepers!

This little lady is a little terror when it comes to glasses care! Lindsey has been wearing glasses for a year now, a year filled with a few too many spectacle adventures. She has broken them twice, lost them twice, had the lenses replaced in them twice, and, thank goodness, been to the emergency room for stitches from them only once! Of course our local optician LOVES us as we are one of her best customers!

Lindsey's latest glasses loosing incident resulted in the purchasing of new "big girl" glasses. They are super cute in a purple tortoise shell with a pink background. She was very particular in
what she wanted and loves her new specs! She also loves that she no longer has to wear cable temples (temples that wrap around the ear so they don't fall off little faces), and that she can put her glasses on all by herself.

Hopefully these little cuties won't meet the same fate as their predecessor's, and keep our little princess seeing well through the next year!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Our sweet little Scotty-bug is 12!! Although he isn't so little, and doesn't love being called "bug" any more, he is still a very sweet boy:) We had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday, enjoying a tasty birthday dinner at his favorite restaurant, FireHouse Pizzeria. We love their gourmet pizza and pasta and had a great time reminiscing of birthdays past over our yummy dinner and pitchers of root beer:) Scott loves ice cream cake and was delighted with this amazing Cold Stone cake we picked out for him. YUM!

With bellies full of birthday feast, he excitedly opened his much anticipated birthday present.....a drum throne! Scott loves Guitar Hero for Wii, and has been begging for accessories for his game. His whoops of joy were a fantastic way to end a wonderful day!
Of course a birthday isn't quite a birthday without a bash with your pals. Scott and his buddy's had a great evening hangin' out playing Wii, and being pre-teens! Goofy and wild, the boys had a great night celebrating with Scott.

Happy Birthday Scott! We love you buddy!!

A Grateful Daughter

It is an amazing experience to stand in the presence of great people. To learn from their strength and wisdom, to live by their example, and to be enveloped by their love. It is even more amazing to be their daughter.

I can scarcely find words to express the love and gratitude I hold for my parents, John and Barbara Randolph. For the wonderful parents they have been to me, and the for the wonderful grandparents they are to my children. For the countless lives they have touched around the world, and for sharing Christ's love with all those they come in contact with. Their love for our Savior is evident in all they do, and felt by all those blessed to be a part of their lives.

We are grateful for their example of love and service as they have served as missionaries in Coasta Rica, the Dominican Republic, and now to the people of St. Vincent. We miss them tremendously, but we find great comfort knowing they are on the Lord's errand.

I love you Mom and Dad. Thank you for your unconditional love and for being such an amazing example to us of Christ's love. Thank you for your genuine love of all people and instilling this great love in your daughters. Thank you for the years of memories, fun, laughs, and love. Thank you for being you, and blessing our lives so greatly with yours! XOXOXO
