We love to vacation! By April this year, we were more than ready to escape snowy Cache Valley and head to sunny southern Cal. We made a three day layover in Las Vegas on our way down, enjoying the beautiful Tahiti Village Resort. The kids spent their days in the pool, and Bill and I enjoyed relaxing and watching the kids play.
Fully rested and relaxed, we headed toward LA, to our family shack. Nestled in beautiful Topanga Canyon, it is one of our most favorite places to visit as a fam. A "shack" in every sense of the word, the house and property are in constant need of repair and maintenance. We worked hard and played harder. The boys loved exploring the old family stomping grounds, stirring up old memories for their old mom:) We shared favorite family stories and watched the sun set from the ramp.
Of course a visit isn't complete with out a trip to the beach! We loved watching the kids romp in the sand and surf, and loved sharing our sea treasures from the tide pools. Just like I did as a little girl. Just as their grandpa did as a boy. Perfect memories. Absolutely perfect.
The Kiddo's
Bryson, Scott, Alec, Zachary and Lindsey
Bryson
Bryson is 14 and in the 10th grade. He loves music and is an avid reader. He is one of the best read people we know! Bryson is a well of knowledge, and provides commentary for just about any topic, and is never sarcastic:) He plays the trumpet in the band and likes to tinker with piano. He is an aspiring cook and loves to keep our bellies full of tasty cookies and treats. Bryson is adored by his little sister and is a wonderful big brother to her.
Scott
Scott is 13 and in the 8th grade. He is an excellent student and plays the french horn in the band. He is always quick to smile and a great big brother. His love of music reaches far past band as his ipod is his constat companion. He keeps our home full of music of all varieties ranging from Wierd Al to U2 to Jimmy Eat World. Here are a few of his fav's:
Alec
Alec is 11 and in 6th grade. As our most "spirited" child he is always at the heart of all the goings on in our home. Alec is rarely found with out a smile on his face, usually from all his mischief making! Alec also has a very tender heart. He loves animals, especially our dog Roxy. Alec was excited to start orchestra this year, and of course had to pick the biggest instrument possible, the BASS! Way to go Aly-Cat!
Zachary
Zachary is 6 and in 1st grade. He is such a sweet, sweet boy. He is perpetually happy and finds great joy is lifes little pleasures. Zach is often found singing or humming a little tune, and we often tease that he is bound to be a super hero because he has his own theme song:). He loves being a cowboy and playing with his special little toys (he has quite a Star Wars and Indiana Jones collection!). He loves to play football with his dad and "buckin' bull's" on the trampoline. A wonderful big brother, Lindsey absolutely adores him, as does most every one who knows him!
Lindsey
Lindsey is 4 and a GIRL! She has been such a joy to our family. She is such a girl, loving dolls and pink and purple, dressing up and pedicures, and drama! She is absolutely adored by her big brothers and never fails to make them laugh. She keeps pace with them quite well and is a pretty rough and tumble little princess. Of course she has mom and dad wrapped around her little finger too!

I'm surprised to see that the "Roxy Incident" is no where mentioned in this post... So either you having forgotten or are trying to forget. Which ever one it is...I'm sorry to have reminded you.
You see, the little doggy poisoning incident made the post WAY too long, so it got deleted! Too bad the $400 in vet bill didn't get deleted too!
