We had a most wonderful Christmas season this year. Filled with activities, concerts, parties, and quite moments too, it was absolutely perfect.
We enjoyed the beautiful Christmas concerts Bryson, Scott, and Alec performed in, and the tasty treats and thoughtful gifts received from family and friends.
We were touched by the opportunity to help those in need through the giving tree at the kids school. The generosity of others and the humble heart of a struggling single mother helped us to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Christmas Eve and Christmas were spent with Bill's sister Jessica and her family. We shared old family traditions and new, and enjoyed good food, family, and fun.
We also enjoyed a fun mini vacation to Salt Lake over the holiday, ringing in the New Year at the First Night celebration in downtown SLC. We visited the Planetarium and local museums and were dazzled by the beauty of the lights at Temple Square. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the hotel pool, and the belgium waffles served for breakfast:) We closed our trip with a much anticipated dinner at Teppanyaki, a Japanese Steak house, where the kids couldn't wait to order hibachi steak, shrimp and sushi. YUM!
It was a wonderful holiday. Perfect in every way. Filled with to the brim with the spirit, family, love, and memories.
The Kiddo's
Bryson, Scott, Alec, Zachary and Lindsey
Bryson
Bryson is 14 and in the 10th grade. He loves music and is an avid reader. He is one of the best read people we know! Bryson is a well of knowledge, and provides commentary for just about any topic, and is never sarcastic:) He plays the trumpet in the band and likes to tinker with piano. He is an aspiring cook and loves to keep our bellies full of tasty cookies and treats. Bryson is adored by his little sister and is a wonderful big brother to her.
Scott
Scott is 13 and in the 8th grade. He is an excellent student and plays the french horn in the band. He is always quick to smile and a great big brother. His love of music reaches far past band as his ipod is his constat companion. He keeps our home full of music of all varieties ranging from Wierd Al to U2 to Jimmy Eat World. Here are a few of his fav's:
Alec
Alec is 11 and in 6th grade. As our most "spirited" child he is always at the heart of all the goings on in our home. Alec is rarely found with out a smile on his face, usually from all his mischief making! Alec also has a very tender heart. He loves animals, especially our dog Roxy. Alec was excited to start orchestra this year, and of course had to pick the biggest instrument possible, the BASS! Way to go Aly-Cat!
Zachary
Zachary is 6 and in 1st grade. He is such a sweet, sweet boy. He is perpetually happy and finds great joy is lifes little pleasures. Zach is often found singing or humming a little tune, and we often tease that he is bound to be a super hero because he has his own theme song:). He loves being a cowboy and playing with his special little toys (he has quite a Star Wars and Indiana Jones collection!). He loves to play football with his dad and "buckin' bull's" on the trampoline. A wonderful big brother, Lindsey absolutely adores him, as does most every one who knows him!
Lindsey
Lindsey is 4 and a GIRL! She has been such a joy to our family. She is such a girl, loving dolls and pink and purple, dressing up and pedicures, and drama! She is absolutely adored by her big brothers and never fails to make them laugh. She keeps pace with them quite well and is a pretty rough and tumble little princess. Of course she has mom and dad wrapped around her little finger too!
